For all you biker chicks and biker dudes…this place shall surely excite and interest you.
Chug, actual dictionary meaning – to make the sound of an engine or motor. Don’t you think the first thought comes to your mind after reading this is the “Royal Enfield”?? Or Bullet? Well, that’s what comes to my mind.
Chug is a Resto-bar that is themed around bikes, bikers and especially the Royal Enfield.
I was invited for the launch party along with a few blogger friends and was excited to be here as I am a Biker chick in mind but not really in action! There was Glitz and glam as two celebrated Sandalwood stars were the guests of honor – Aindrita Ray and Digganth and of course DJ Ivan!
It is located at the Nagawara signal, Bengaluru. It is close to Manyata Embassy Business Park and will surely attract the crowd from there.
As you enter, the place looks a little dark and as you proceed further, you can see parts of the dismantled Bullet bike on one of the walls. This is sure to catch the eye of every biker!
There are pictures and posters which depict the essence of Biker’s life and historical details of Bullet since the time it was invented.
There is a Bar stacked with drinks and bartenders at work to make you happy! I am a teetotaler and hence alcohol doesn’t excite me.
So why was I here for? There’s always going to be food and food makes me happy!!
So here’s my experience on the food I got to taste:
Three patch: This was a shake made by blending raspberries, coconut milk and ginger. Was nice but a little heavy.
There were no mocktails on the menu and it saddened me. But the Manager made it up to it and got me a couple of custom made mocktails and they were nice and refreshing!
Bruschetta – Bread topped with tomato and Mozzarella, tasted good.
Peri Peri Chicken Wings: It was nice but needed more sauce.
Quesadilla – Good mexican flavors ad worth trying.
Crispy corn: It was nice too but lacked a little zing.
Nachos: Nachos were nice but lacked seasoning. Sauce made it up though.
Beer Battered Fish: Wasn’t very crispy but was still nice.
Palakoora Garelu: In simple, these are dal vadas. Could have been better.
Crumb Fried Chicken: Was made well and definitely crispy. Again, seasoning balance was needed.
I was quite full and had space to taste couple of spoons of a dish or two out of the lot and liked it. They looked yummy but can’t write much as I did not taste much.
My eyes went on this dessert that was named “Checked Cake” in the menu. You need to try it to believe it. It was a warm, colorful and soft cake drizzled with chocolate. It was yummy. The colors made it too appealing to the eye!
Apple Cinnamon Pie: This was nice and alright but I’ve tasted better.
Overall, I had a great time and loved being part of this. Owner Raghu Raman seemed too passionate about this venture and made sure we were having a good time.
The food is nice but I guess can be a lot better with better seasoning. I guess it was day1 for them and cannot be marked down on that ground.
I suggest them to add the mocktails to the menu.
It is definitely going to be a happening place and the Bike lovers are going to feel as if this place is their own; as it is meant for them which hadn’t thought about before.
So come here, sit back and enjoy a good time over a few drinks and yummy desserts and again head back and hit the road!
